Armstrong draws from a wide array of musical traditions to fill his song bag, but his delivery reflects the immense influence of the music of the Appalachian Mountains… Piedmont blues, mountain stringband music, original songs, songs of the Grateful Dead, songs from his mother… they all come out sounding like Cort Armstrong songs. Merle Travis, Rev.
