Greetings Friends,

Last year was the opening of our Plant Nursery at Whiskey Creek Zócalo – Phase I of our wild endeavor! It was such a joy to connect with our community, visit with old friends, make new friends, and see so many people discover and enjoy our outdoor space and gardens. We have spent all fall and winter working on our concept. We will be opening Phases II and III in April with limited hours and three Music Performances. Then, this summer we will celebrate with a Grand Opening Party. This has been an immense labor of love, and we look forward to our community coming out to celebrate with us.

Phase I: Nursery Opening Spring is fast approaching, and we will be reopening the Plant Nursery for our second season on April 20th. We will continue to carry drought-tolerant perennials, trees and shrubs, organic soil and nutrients, as well as locally-grown fruit trees and natives. Keep an eye out for our Workshop Schedule. We have some exciting presentations in the works.

Regular hours will be Wednesday through Sunday. 10am-5pm.

Phase II Neighborhood Market

We will have a small indoor retail space for locally-sourced products, art and vintage treasures.

Phase III Music and Performance Venue – Food and Drink

This is the heart and soul of what we have been working on and we cannot wait to share this space with you! We will be featuring an array of genre-defying music and performances. As artists and musicians, we have a deep love and respect for all types of music. We are looking forward to presenting a music-forward environment, where the focus will be on the artists and their shows.

Our food will be simple and revolving. As our garden produces, we will be including the vegetables grown on site into our daily menus. We will be offering wood-fired pizza and other specialty dishes that will be cooked in our hand-crafted Horno. Please be patient with our process, as our menu and hours for this space will be limited and revolving during the month of April. We will be serving beer, wine, sangrias, kombucha, ciders, & vermouths. Watch for guest chefs, wine pairings and special events. There will be indoor as well as outdoor spaces to partake of and enjoy.

Tentative Hours starting April 7: Thursday – Sunday. 3pm til... Expanded hours coming in May

We are thrilled with the progress made at the Zócalo, and we are so grateful to everyone who continues to offer their generous support, encouragement and contributions as the space evolves, and we cultivate our dream of creating an inclusive community-centered, multi-faceted, interactive events space.

There are many aspects of this space that are still ‘in progress’. Our outdoor stage, artist in residency program, natural building workshops, and camping areas are all in various stages of development. Your patience, interest, and help are much appreciated as we continue to create a place that holds space for our community and envisions many of our passions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

XO the WCZ Family
