JUNE 2023 HAPPENINGS

WE'RE HERE!

Greetings Friends,

Here's an update on everything happening at Whiskey Creek Zócalo in June!

Most shows have limited tickets left, so please get yours in advance to ensure your spot.

NEW THIS MONTH

Every Sunday 11am - 4pm

Cornhole & Horseshoe Tournament // Brunch

‣ Come practice! Sign up at the bar.

Every Wednesday 4 - 6pm

Wild Wines by the Glass & Live Guitar with Marc Yaxley

‣ We will be offering wines by the glass, customarily only served by the bottle.

This is a chance to expand your palate and experience wines not normally on your radar,

while listening to the fiercely wild yet classic sounds of Yaxley on guitar.

Friday, June 2

Sarah Russo and Dustin Gaspard

Doors 7:00pm // Show 7:30pm

Tickets $12

‣ Originally from Bayou Country, Sarah Russo grew up singing in the church. With her

exceptional range, and soulful sound, she carries the deep roots of South Louisiana.

Friday, June 9

Madeline Goldstein, with More Ephemerol + People

Doors 7:00pm // Show 7:30pm

Tickets $10

‣ With emotion and a strong ear for pop melody, Madeline Goldstein echoes the energies of

new wave, dream-pop, and dark wave, all while showcasing the vocal range and passion of

femme pop icons and 80's theatrics.

‣ More Ephemerol is a Los Angeles-based synth band with C. Fjerstad & Tamara Sky

‣ People are a doom-goth duo with synth drum machines, an old Rickenbacker, elegiac big

vocals and, principally, an enthrallingly esoteric experience.

Sunday, June 11

Supporting the Mutual Affair of Agaves and Bats Facilitated by Steve Plath

1:00 – 3:00pm

Tickets by donation (give what you can)

‣ Presentation of the Bat Conservation International’s initiative to enhance habitat for the

Lesser long-nosed bat in southeastern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.

Wednesday, June 14

Faun Fables

Doors 7:00pm // Show 7:30pm

Tickets $10

‣ Troubadours of animist, otherworldly folk music, Faun Fables are known for exquisite, visceral adventures in song and live performance. Dawn McCarthy's writing and voice (which The New Yorker described as “one of the more compelling instruments in contemporary music") opens hearts and minds with a whisper to a rallying battle cry into her mythical world, animated by the musicality and vocals of partner Nils Frykdahl.
