SEPTEMBER 2023 HAPPENINGS

WE'RE HANGING OUT!

...and we've got a lot going on

Greetings Friends,

It's been a hot & dry season so far, but it's finally starting to cool down, cloud up and...RAIN!

On the Plant Nursery side - we'd like to thank the Native Plant Society for including us in their sale and facilitating the sale of our native plants! This is a great time to plant and we have lots of locally-grown fruit trees from Gabe of Honey Hawk Farms, beautiful shade trees, perennials, & native grasses available!

On the Venue side - we have had some amazing shows with equally great audiences, and we appreciate both the artists and the music lovers who show up because we know it takes both sides & lots of love to make that happen!

We are kicking off September with back to back shows, and an incredible variety of exciting new live music & touring bands scheduled throughout the fall season. Stay tuned, and check our website regularly for upcoming events and workshops.

Food & Drinks - Our main staple continues to be our wood fired pizza. We have added organic salads, Nathan's hot dogs (for late night munchies), delicious desserts from Tin Cat Bakery, and soon we will be offering seasonal specials. Brandon mixes a mean sangria, or try our Bamboo Cocktail, made with sherry & vermouth.

We also have some new additions to the Whiskey Creek Zócao Family, so please come say hi to Kate, who just arrived from Portland!

J. Graves

‣Doors: 7:00pm / Music: 7:30pm

J. Graves, a Portland-based, Indie Dance-Punk band comprised of singer and guitarist Jessa Graves, bass player Kelly Clifton and drummer Aaron MacDonald - explores the relationship around tense rock, sanguine lyricism, chord changes that sound like secret longing, and a rhythm section that thuds, skitters, and melts over the determined voice of Jessa Graves. "Reckoning with guilt, loss and acceptance; it's a heavy topic, set against the band's appropriately thudding garage-rock sound and singer Jessa Graves' passionate and powerful voice… shows off the band's tightly-coiled performance energy…” — Marissa Lorusso, NPR All Songs Considered.
